The latest news reaching us from ASUU is that Dr Nasir Fagge, who is the President, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), yesterday, 15th October, described the incessant killings of students in some parts of the country as unfortunate and condemnable.
Dr Nasir Fagge, said in an interview in Lagos that the union was worried and sad by the development, saying the union had directed affected institutions to investigate the incidents and that it was waiting for the outcome before taking appropriate steps.
Fagge noted that the requirement for every institution was that, at least, 35 per cent of its students should be accommodated on campus and ASUU was pushing for at least 50 per cent of students to be accommodated on campus.
Dr Nasir Fagge Said, and i quote;
“ASUU is against having police or military on campus because of what has happened in the past. We do not want what happened during the Ali-Must-Go crisis and what happened in Zaria in the past to repeat itself,”
